This 5-euro coin in the shape of a honeycomb pays homage to Latvia's ecological commitment

The Latvia is a country deemed to be one of the most committed in the world in matters ofecology and of sustainable development. According to a report from theYale University in 2013, the Latvia is by the way the country the most "green" and the most respectful of the environment within the European Community.

So, to honor this commitment, the Latvian designerArthur Analts, today based in London, had the idea to create a bit of a special coin. This piece of 5 euros (yes, it exists) takes the form of a honeycomb, as a tribute to this commitment of the Latvia for a more respectful world of Nature. A piece a little special, let's face it, but we love its aesthetic that makes the passage a nice tribute to bees which are so important for the survival of our ecosystem.

And if we look in more detail at the famous piece, we notice that the honeycomb takes the shape of the Gulf of Riga. The coin will of course be manufactured and distributed by Latvian banks until the end of 2018. A fine tribute to the Latvia, which is, for the anecdote, ruled byRaimonds VÄ“jonis, the first ecologist president in the world!
