Beyond the simple aesthetic aspect of their creations, artists often have the mission to transmit strong messages. Very often, these messages concern problems of our modern society: the extinction of animal species, the respect of our environment, the excesses of our habits of consumption ...
But the artist we are going to talk about today has a very sharp look at a subject that concerns us all: the use we have of new technologies. The arrival of television, internet, the use of smartphones ... The various technological revolutions have totally changed our approach to culture and education, at the expense most often of traditional books.
This is precisely one of the favorite topics ofPawel Kuczynski, an artist of Polish origin who sees through art a way to express his opinion about our modern society. "From the beginning, I found that the illustration was the best way to express my observations" explains the artist. "I always say that I am an illustrator of a surrealistic time, which is reflected, I think, in my work".
Well Named (or no, we leave you judges), Pawel Kuczynski portrayed through his illustrations the reflection of a society totally absorbed by information and new technologies. We let you discover below some of his works, and we invite you to visit his portfolio if you want to extend your exploration. Finally, in the same spirit, we invite you to discover the work of equally talented satirical illustrators such asGerhard Haderer orStephan Schmitz.
