World-renowned photographer, Tim Flach likes to defend the animal cause. His most famous project, More Than Human, presents portraits of animals with amazing details to raise awareness of an existence sometimes despised ... by human beings. This desire to touch the spirits, he kept it in his new series of photographs, still based on portraits, and baptizedEndangered.
Tim Flach here has chosen to focus on the animals listed on the red list of IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) where we can find vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered species. While some of them are well known to the general public, such as the panda or the snow Leopard, the photographer also sought to focus on unknown animals such as the rhinopithecus bieti, with a very strange nose, or thetwo-tone tamarind (image to the front page).
A poignant and unique project you'll find more examples on the site of Tim Flach. A book is also available, published by EditionsAbrams, bringing together180 portraits and more details about each of them, that you find on Amazon à 46 euros.
